Can I make deductions for work clothes?

In order to deduct the cost of work clothing, the expense must pertain to garments that are specifically adapted for your work and unsuitable for private use. Clothing is considered workwear when it is specially designed for your job — for example, uniforms and protective clothing.

The receipt must clearly indicate that the items are indeed workwear or protective clothing.

Protective clothing is intended to prevent injury or illness, or to protect against corrosive substances, heat, cold, and similar hazards.

Uniforms are used in certain professions, such as flight attendants, restaurant staff, healthcare workers, security guards, military personnel, and police officers.

The receipt or invoice must include both your name and BolagsKraft’s name, for example: (your name) c/o BolagsKraft.

The Swedish Tax Agency is very restrictive about which professions can claim deductions for work or protective clothing.
